Unique tag ID's
Each RFID tag has a unique ID number.
Many clients use the onboard GPS location system for identifying the farms visited and this technology works extremely well….95% of the time. For some farms at the foot of hills or near overhead high voltage lines or even on a cloudy day, the GPS location system may not work. To avoid this 5% failure we have developed an ultra high frequesncy RFID tag that is mounted on each farm tank. The operating radius of this tag is 7m. As the truck approaches, an external RFID receiver that is mounted on the truck identifies the unique farm number.

Receival System - Stationary
In areas where farm milk collection trucks have not been set up with our milk metering and data acquisition systems, we have offered the same technology on a stationary platform that is mounted in the Receiving Bay at the Dairy. The truck arrives and the driver connects the hose from the truck to our receiving system. The receiving system counts the milk unloaded, records the milk temperature and takes a representative load sample. The collection data is automatically uploaded the the Dairy’s server.

Delivery System - Stationary
For the larger farm milk producers
For the very large supplier farms where multiple tankers collect milk each day, we have developed a Delivery System. The delivery system is the same technology that we use on our mobile milk metering systems but is located on the farm and pumps milk directly onto an empty milk tanker. As the pumping takes place, our system records the volumes being pumped on and the temperature and takes a representative load sample. When the truck arrives, the driver connects the hose from the truck to our delivery system. The collection data is automatically uploaded to the Dairy’s server.

In-Cabin Computer and Route Optimizer System
In-Cabin Computer and Route Optimizer System
The driver logs on at the start of each shift and logs off at the end, The driver name, start time, end time and duration of the shift can be sent to the company's payroll application. After logging in, the driver is presented with his routes for the day. He selects the first route and the system navigates to each farm or delivery location.
Truck routing and business administration simplified
Driver Log In
Driver work hours can be recorded and sent to the company payroll application
Pre-Start Checklist
A Pre-Start Checklist is available which requires the driver to complete before selecting a route.
Guided navigation
A routing schedule is sent to each truck based on a separate scheduling application. The screen satellite navigates the driver to each destination.
Messaging System
Our in-cabin screen has a simple text messaging application for the Transport Manager to send messages to each driver.
A unique Solution
This in-cabin computer is the next level of technology only supplied by us. The driver enters his truck cabin and logs into his computer. This records his name, number and start time and sends these details through to the company’s payroll application. He is then presented with a Pre-Start Checklist whch requires him to confirm that each critical item on the truck has been inspected before he starts his journey, such as lights, tyres, cleanliness of truck etc.
The computer then asks him to select his route number from a list and then he starts his journey. Our software application is called Milk Transport Computer (MTC) and it stores all of the important data. We can use this collection data and Truck data to populate a route optimizer application that will use a sophisticated algorithm to generate a sheet of optimized routes for each truck.
These routes can then be sent directly to the in-cabin computer (called a TOC). The system is so simple to use. The TOC then satellite navigates the driver to each farm in an optimal manner. It then navigates him to the delivery unload location. The TOC also has two other useful functions: 1. It has an sms messaging system between the office and the driver, and 2. it connects to the truck’s CanBus system so it can monitor the performance of the truck for fleet management decisions.

Sampling System
Single, dual, triple and quadruple samplers
We have developed single, dual, triple and quadruple samplers that utilise peristaltic technologies to deliver clean and representative samples of all milk collected. This improves the quality of the laboratory results and adds traceability to every drop collected.

Metering Systems, Data acquisition and IT system
Flo-gineering has been the market leader in the development of flow metering and data acquisition systems for stationary and mobile installations for over 30 years.
We are the Australian, New Zealand and American distributor for Poul Tarp A/S technologies from Denmark. Our flow metering systems can be installed in new or existing tankers. All systems we provide are approved for trade use in Australia, New Zealand and we have 3A Approval in the USA and pending approval from the stringent National Technology Evaluation Program certification.
Improved accuracy
Provides accurate and independent measurement of milk collected and discharged.
Eliminates Unfair Supplier payments
Dipsticks have been proven inaccurate, but with our technology, the Supplier is paid for exactly the volume of milk received.
Faster Pumping
Less load time. Saves valuable collection time as no data is manually recorded by the operator.
Representative Sampling
No more quality issues. Automatic sampling for both supplier and load samples.
Eliminate Human Error
Zero data entry error by driver or admin personnel. The data transfer operation allows factories to consolidate data in real time and reduce the need for manual data entries and the possibility of human error that can occur.
Features that get the job done
The In-built GPS module is used for tracking, supplier identification and factory location ensuring traceability of every gallon collected.
Our computer has a very intuitive screen for drivers to quickly adapt to. And no paperwork is required throughout the process which dramatically reduces errors.
A Bubble detector that detects air bubbles during the collection process is used to ensure correct pump speed providing superior accuracy and higher flow rates.
A Pressure sensor is used to detect vacuum that can cause cavitation which could lead to inaccurate volumes and damage to the equipment and product.
A Temperature sensor is used to monitor and record product temperature.
Additional conductivity sensors that can differentiate between milk, air and water is used to improve the accuracy of the milk volume counted, and an RPM sensor is used to control the speed of the pumps so that the collection speed is optimized without damaging the milk collected.
How the system works
Installing the system
The farm milk collection truck is fitted with a sophisticated milk flow metering and data acquisition system. At all times, the truck is connected to a remote server via the internet and data is being sent to and from the truck’s computer. So when the truck arrives at a supplier farm, the computer uses GPS location software to advise the driver of the name and number of this supplier. The computer suggests how much milk should be collected based on the average collected over the previous three days. The driver can accept this volume of edit the volume on screen.
Better data leads to better management
This expected volume is used by the computer to control the rate of sampling so a perfectly representative sample of milk is collected from each farm. The driver connects a hose to the farm tank and the pumps begin collecting this milk at very high speed. Both temperature and volume are constantly monitored throughout the collection process. The computerised printer prints a barcode label for each sample bottle so that this data is carefully monitored. At the end of the collection, the pumps stop and the driver retrieves the hose.
The samples collected are placed in an ice chest and the printer then prints a collection receipt which is left behind so the farmer can review the collection volume and temperature. This receipt will also print out the laboratory results from the previous day’s collection which is very important quality data for the farmer. As the truck departs from the farm, the data has already been sent back to the processing dairy’s server where the data will then be sent to the milk payment application so that the farmer is automatically paid for each load collected.
It's an Equitable Process
Everyone wins here – the farmer gets paid for exactly what is collected. The Dairy pays for exactly what is collected and the data is captured without any human intervention.
